Hunter Flynn is a Kentucky-born singer-songwriter and visual ar8st whose work resonates with
emo8onal honesty and a deep connec8on to Appalachian culture. Raised in Pulaski County, Flynn’s path
to music and art wasn’t a straight line—it was forged through adversity and personal transforma8on. In
early 2022, aHer surviving a life-altering car accident, he decided to fully embrace his crea8ve passions,
launching a music career rooted in authen8city, vulnerability, and soul.
Drawing inspira8on from the landscapes and stories of Appalachia, Flynn blends elements of folk,
country, soul, and gospel into a genre-defying sound he calls Appalachian Soul Music. His lyrics, oHen
reflec8ve and raw, tell stories of pain, redemp8on, resilience, and iden8ty—underscored by his powerful
vocals and minimalist arrangements. These quali8es are showcased in his debut EP, Appalachian Soul,
released in May 2023, which quickly gained trac8on for its emo8onal depth and stripped-back sincerity.
Flynn has performed at prominent venues and fes8vals throughout the United States and Europe,
including the pres8gious Master Musicians Fes8val in Somerset, Kentucky, where he was honored as the
Featured Ar8st in 2023. His growing influence in the Kentucky music community was further recognized
in 2025 when he was named the Ar8st in Residence at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame—a rare honor
that reflects his cultural impact and ar8s8c integrity.
In addi8on to music, Hunter Flynn is an accomplished visual ar8st, known for his evoca8ve charcoal
portraits that explore themes of memory, loss, and the human condi8on. His dual talents in music and
art oHen intersect, as he uses both mediums to explore the complexi8es of iden8ty and healing in post-
industrial Appalachia.
Hunter has shared stages with notable acts such as Zach Top, WyaW Flores, Jamie Johnson, Larry Fleet,
Jackson Dean, and many others, yet remains commiWed to upliHing emerging voices and fostering a
sense of community within the Appalachian arts scene. He oHen collaborates with other local musicians,
writers, and visual ar8sts, further cemen8ng his role not just as a performer, but as a cultural connector
and advocate.
For Hunter Flynn, music and art aren’t just forms of expression—they're tools for survival, connec8on,
and transforma8on. His work con8nues to inspire audiences across genera8ons, offering a voice to those
who oHen go unheard.
