Experience the JazzFest in a restored 19th Century Victorian Brownstone located in Bedford Stuyvesant Central Brooklyn’s Landmarked Historic Community.
The Brownstone JAZZ Venue resides on the bottom floors of Sankofa Aban Bed and Breakfast. Once upon a time in an extremely vibrant jazz community. The building purchased and owned by the same family for six generations. Not sure which arrived first to the community, the family or the jazz. You will feel transported back to earlier time.
BrownstoneJAZZ Ensasmbles presented are the best of yesteryear's jazz soldiers and today's jazz frontier artists. Swinging with an authentic jazz style. Something for everyone to enjoy.
Bed Stuy, B'klyn and SugarHill, Harlem were both Jazz Hey Day Communities. When Ella Fitzgerald lyricized the song 'TAKE THE A TRAIN' she gave confirmation to a belief she was speaking of the fastest way to connect NYC's two jazz hubs.
BrownstoneJAZZ invites you to a magical evening of music with Curator Debbie McClain and M.C., Bassist Eric Lemons hosting you behind the scenes as you undercover this old school jazz venue. You can get there early to meet the performers, or pick your seat to enjoy a different kind of jazz experience, of a lifetime. Get your ticket and come on through. You'll be greeted with some of the best hospitality in NYC by the evening's host,or the team of performing artists and volunteering co-host. You'll feel like membered guests during this very private evening anytime you attend. Both Eric and Debbie have been involved in the world of musical entertainment for many years. Learning, teaching, recording, hosting, grooming, promoting, producing and presenting major artist. The list is long. They really know their way around the business.
