Additional Information

The Burst and Bloom, is a 3 piece rock band native to the City of Chicago. The best way to describe them is three life long friends that lock themselves in a room and turn a hard day, several beers, and a bottle of bourbon into a song. They are all ex-members of another defunct band The New Diet. Musical influences span from bands like Brand New, Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie, Weezer, American Football, and Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s to other influences from artist like Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay Electronica. The music definitely has a familiar feeling to it with undertones that definitely set them a part from other bands. Putting a lot of emphasis on guitar, bass, and drum tones is matched by the lyrical content and the need to make music that they would want to listen to. Currently TBAB is playing whenever they can to get their new music out there. They made their debut show in the spring of 2016 co-headlining the House of Blues. Currently, they are recording more music after releasing 3 songs collectively called Bricktop Demos recorded at Bricktop Studios with Pete Grossman.

1. To think or dwell on something until it is no longer possible to think about it

2. Dreamy, grungy, emo-ish band

The idea of Rust Ring was not to be just another Midwest math rock band or try to be some kind of math rock super group, but to try and make interesting, complex, and also catchy songs. The music is equally influenced by 90’s indie, slowcore, and emo as well as contemporary punk and Midwest DIY music to create a sound that is Rust Ring.

Safespace is an indie rock band in Chicago reminiscent of the 90s bands you love.
