Pine Street School, New York, NY
Grades K-2 - Animation Experiments
Students in this one week camp will step into the role of mad scientists! Will we create a plant that can sing? Or will we create a dog that changes colors? The possibilities are endless! Students will create sets, props and characters all using different types of textured paper, fabrics, and MORE! The class will work together to make a short animated film about wacky science experiments. Students will have a blast thinking creatively to tell their own unique story!
Grades 3-5 - Movie Magic
Movies and magic have a long history together. Some of the first filmmakers were viewed as magicians rather than storytellers. In this camp, students will be both! Transform objects, make things disappear, bring objects to life, and more all using movie magic! Try out different cinematic magic tricks and use animation to tell an original story and create a short film.
Grades 6- 8 Inspired By The Masters: Aardman Studios
Wallace and Gromit have won over audiences since their debut! Students will make their own clay animated films inspired by Wallace and Gromit as well as the other Aardman studios films. Using equipments and the same software used by the studio itself, students will explore the filmmaking process by collaboratively creating an original story and film.
Extended care is available from 3:30-5pm.
Films created in these workshops will screen at the 2019 Festival!
