Join jazz-folk trio Foiled Again as they return to SPACE for their eighth appearance to celebrate the holiday season in three-part harmony. Nightspots Magazine describes the evening as, "Part cozy hot chocolate and part kicking Moscow Mule for the ears."
As the seasons change, Foiled Again (Allison Bazarko, Rob Lindley, Anne Sheridan Smith) offer an evening of jazz, folk, and Americana with intricate three-part originals and arrangements that will knock your socks off. They will include songs from their studio album Blanket of Winter, covering artists like Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, kd Lang, and Randy Newman with some originals and re-imagined holiday classics. Joining Foiled Again for the evening will be Kara Kesselring on piano, Gavin Kirk on guitar, and Patrick Williams on bass.
Foiled Again has been singing together for nearly twenty years and have entertained audiences all over the Chicago-land area. Venues and nightclubs include: Davenport’s Cabaret, The Drake, The Acorn Theatre, Chicago Humanities Festival, Chicago Cultural Center, and Speakeasy Supper Club. Comprised of Bazarko (singer-songwriter and Foiled Again vocal arranger), Lindley (Jeff Award winning-actor and singer, Oh Coward!, Angels in America, Carousel, Candide), and Smith (Jeff nominated-actor and singer, Bat Boy: The Musical, The Drowning Girls, and Jeff Award winning - 1776). The Sun-Times writes, “. If there is a group performing tighter, more intricate harmonies, I haven't heard them. – HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED”
Time Out Chicago says “Just wait until you hear this vocal trio harmonize – you won’t be disappointed. . . .Give this trio a piano, three microphones and a good songbook and there isn’t any tune it can’t conquer. DON’T MISS"
