Terms and Conditions:

**Please note fees include Evanston and Cook County amusement tax.** We want to make sure that all patrons know what to expect when attending events at SPACE. Please note that not all tickets guarantee seats. Seating varies show by show, so please pay attention to the description of the seating level that you select. A "Reserved Table Seat" guarantees one seat at a cabaret table. Every individual in your party needs a ticket in that section in order to sit at your table. Table seats are held until one hour after the start time of the show. Reserved Table Seats and any will-call tickets are non transferable - the name of the person ordering must match the name of the person picking up the tickets. A “GA Limited Seating” ticket guarantees access to the concert, but does not guarantee a seat. Seating is available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis. If seating is absolutely necessary to you, please purchase a Reserved Table Seat. For certain shows, we will have a "GA Seated" section, which guarantees a chair, but no table. Seats for this section are guaranteed until showtime. A “GA Dance Floor” or “Standing Room” ticket is just that. There is absolutely no seating in either of these sections. Please do not purchase a ticket in these sections if you will be unable to stand for the duration of the show. Doors for concerts open one hour before the start time of the show. SPACE reserves the right to change the start time, or to add performers to a lineup. Ticket buyers will be emailed with any major changes. No outside food or drinks are permitted. Pizzas from Union Pizzeria can be brought into the concert. SPACE has a full bar and cocktail service during shows. Flash photography is not permitted in SPACE. This is a listening room, and it is important to us that performers are able to be heard. Patrons talking during quiet shows may be asked to step outside so others can enjoy the show. SPACE is an all-ages venue, but patrons must be 21 to drink alcoholic beverages. No refunds will be given under any circumstances. By continuing with this purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms and conditions stated above.

I understand and accept these terms.

Additional Information

Front Row Tables (Table 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15) include a meet-and-greet.

Previously “Harry and Judith’s Holiday Sing-a-Long,” the newly renamed “Christmas Without Tears” is a reverent and irreverent antidote to the most stressful of seasons. A fifteen-year tradition that began in Shearer and Owen’s Santa Monica home (and migrated to stage as a benefit for Hurricane Katrina), these annual gatherings have grown into a heartwarming house party around the piano that involves and entertains fellow performers and audience members alike. A guilt-free way of having fun and giving back, ALL proceeds go to charities such as The New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation and the Actor’s Fund (with a particular emphasis this year on aiding mental health through both organizations).

As Owen explains; “Nothing seems more appropriate than raising funds and awareness for an illness that affects so many of us, through the most life-affirming things: music, laughter and friendship. It’s the reason we started having this party in the first place, to help people get through those times when they can be at their lowest ebb. This show has come to mean Christmas for me, and it’s now an annual highlight for many, both on and off stage.”

Each evening includes both invited performers and surprise guests who drop into Harry and Judith’s onstage living room. Past revelers have included Weird Al Yankovic, Jane Lynch, Donald Fagen, Richard Thompson, Catherine O’Hara, Henry Butler, Paul Shaffer, Alice Ripley, Alfie Boe, Christopher Guest, Keb’ Mo’ and Steve Lukather, to name but a few.

The show is divided into two acts. The first features Owen, Shearer and their cast of guests, each of whom perform a seasonal “party piece” – either a classic or original song. Selections range from the sentimental ("Winter Wonderland” and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas") to the irreverent ("F&*k Christmas” and "Jesus Was a Dreidel Spinner”). Comics, magicians, female impersonators and even a somber clown have been welcomed additions, adding that perfect mix makes this a true variety show. As guests finish their performances, they remain onstage (which Owen decorates in a cozy, Christmastime setting), steadily building the exuberant, festive mood. Each year Shearer writes a new satirical song (most recently 2013’s "Why No Bail-Out for Santa?") while he and Owen close the first act with Owen’s own heartfelt ode to Christmases past, “The Dancing Tree.”

The second act is an audience sing-along of classic American Christmas carols, with Owen providing specially designed songbooks. For the crowd favorite "The Twelve Days of Christmas," Owen and Shearer divide the audience into twelve groups, who then act out their respective “day,” the best of whom are awarded with kitschy and often quite awful holiday gifts!

Shearer and Owen’s winter single, a jazzed up version of the Spinal Tap classic “Christmas with the Devil” (plus a bonus version of “The Dancing Tree”), will be released this November in both video and song form.
