A PLACE BOTH WONDERFUL AND STRANGE is the Brooklyn-based Occult Electronic Dance performance art moniker of SHANDA WOODS, LAURA HAJEK and RUSS MARSHALEK. Dark, moody, experimental electronic dance music inspired in equal parts by David Lynch and Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814. This is the dark future.
PANDA RIOT formed in Philadelphia while Brian Cook and Rebecca Scott were working on some short films. The soundtrack from their cinematic collab, Dolphins and Porpoises, inspired the two to fully fledge their score into songs and thus, PANDA RIOT was born. After moving to Chicago, they expanded the band and in 2011 dropped the Far and Near Ep. They recently released a limited edition Serious Radical Girls 7” in May of 2012. Their new record Northern Automatic Music (2013) is available on Vinyl and CD via Saint Marie Records (US)
TURING HEAT is all patch cables, all the time. The living, breathing, hi-tech lowlife spasm of every creative outlet you've brought to fruition falling to dust on the dark side of a panoply of hot drugs and bad vibes. Rising from the collective ash of projects like A Crown of Amaranth, Auditor, a stint with abstract death metal juggernauts Ævangelist, and the recently-resurrected Iron Forest, TURING HEAT is the soundtrack for your techno burnout. Black Ice or bust, kid.
