Additional Information

NEST is NoahEricStephanieTommy. 90s sweet grunge reincarnate. Guitarists Tommy Owley and Stephanie Maieritsch combine guitar compositions that forge a sound reminiscent of Guided By Voices, giving the listener a familiar indie 90’s rock feel. Maieritsch, who writes most of NEST's songs, belts intimate lyrics with an authenticity that recalls Chrissie Hynde while the band maintains an infectious pop-grunge sound, not distant from that of VERUCA SALT and HOLE. Noah Vandercook’s aggressive drumming demands your attention and drives every song. And Eric Unger carries insistent bass lines but keeps a melancholic edge.  After playing venues across Chicago for more than a year, the band released its first full-length album Mother's Knife in late 2016. IZZY OLIVE is an anxious young woman who overthinks things constantly. A confrontational storyteller, HALF GRINGA is a long, hard look in the mirror. She writes songs about multicultural identity, domestic disputes, and genuine hope set to rowdy rural rock music. Chicago three-piece COURTNEY layers gritty-sweet harmonies over thick grunge guitar and bass. The band's simple, three-chord songs rattle Millennial nostalgia for early 90s rock radio.
