SOBs Samba Saturdays presents singer, songwriter, actress & arts educator Liliana Araujo & Forro Da Madane Saturday, July 7th, 2012. Liliana Araujo & Forro Da Madane is a world renowned artist from Ceara, Brazil. Liliana has performed across many stages in all regions of Brazil. Liliana’s talents are not limited to just her vocal abilities. She formed part of the acting body of the Jose de Alencar Theater, a member of Soul Negro (researchers of Afro-Brazilian traditions in percussion) and Grupo Raizes (African Dance), as well as many other companies. In 2005, she sang in classical vocal quartet Barreto with orchestra to open the Seventh Eleazar de Carvalho Festival. In addition to her continuing solo career, she is a teaching artist for many educational organizations in New York, focusing on disseminating Brazilian traditions of music, dance and song.
