Additional Information

We are beyond excited to announce the first ever LA show from legendary roots reggae singer Prince Allah! He is responsible for some of the heaviest, most dread tunes to come out of the classic 70s reggae era, tunes like “Bosrah” , “Great Stone”, “Bucket Bottom” and more. Records that sound like melodic prophecy chanted over  earthquakes of drum and bass. His music has the direct power and spiritual vibes that so much contemporary reggae music is lacking. After recording in the 70s and 80s , he stepped away from music for a while, preferring fishing and other work to struggling to get paid in the cut throat reggae business. But in recent years he has returned to recording, and has been doing live shows in Europe. Blood and Fire records has released two excellent collections of his work, “Only Love Can Conquer”, and “I Can Hear The Children Singing”, which made some hard to find material available again. Presenting an artist like Prince Allah is a real honor for us and is the heart and soul of what we are trying to do at Dub Club.

In the five years since he made history as the youngest winner of Television Jamaica’s (TVJ) popular “Rising Stars” talent competition at just 17-years-old, Romain Virgo has emerged as one of the island’s finest singer/songwriters whose innate skills ensure that quality, consciously themed roots reggae will continue to flourish. He has released 2 solid albums on VP records and kept up a hectic touring schedule. In September 2011 Romain made history again as the first Jamaican artist to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards, held in Nashville, Tennessee. Romain’s version of veteran country stars The Gatlin Brothers’ 1979 hit “All The Gold In California” was featured on VP Records’ “Reggae’s Gone Country”, with Larry Gatlin singing back up; His performance of “California” alongside the Gatlins, garnered Romain a standing ovation from country music’s elite, and assuredly earned the 22-year old numerous Nashville based fans.

Perfect is without doubt one of the most creative and talented of the current MCs coming out of Jamaica. As his own facebook page says: “PERFECT GIDDIMANI 'The Musical Alchemist' is one of Reggae music’s most unusual, interesting and ABNORMAL artists and talents.” His tunes have a fire and intelligence, and a sense of humor, that set him apart from the run of the mill modern dancehall artist.

All the artists will be backed by the iKronik band, one of the top current Jamaican bands.
