This self-paced course distills the techniques and rules used by professional copy editors at The New York Times, and is taught by the editor who manages copy editor training there. It will be helpful – and enjoyable -- to anyone interested in better writing. Among the concepts covered will be: common mistakes that make you look foolish, and how to avoid them; organizing your points logically and in context; use and misuse of technical terms and names; how to spot problem words; how to spot excess words; punctuation, capitalization, plurals and possessives; fact-checking (reliable and unreliable sources)  You will have access to the course for six months from the date you register.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an online self-paced seminar and you will be accessing your seminar through the Epsilen Global Learning System (GLS). The course materials will be available until 7/31/12.
