Additional Information

Making their Empty Bottle debut tonight and headlining the show is THE BELLWETHER SYNDICATE, a powerful and commanding new force in the Chicago music community. Released in 2013, The Night Watch is their debut EP and it lurches out of the sonic avant-garde, intent on speaking truth to power with a sharp tongue. With an electric and engaging live show, where the sound and substance of the recorded work truly comes to life, the art is made whole by the audience -- and this is a band that knows how to connect with its audience. Coming all the way from Copenhagen to play a short tour with our headliners is THE FOREIGN RESORT, a sonically expressive, dark and moody, catchy and up-beat four-piece who blends 80s New Wave with explosive Post Punk. Since 2010, the band has been rigorous in playing over 150 shows. Having developed a wide fan base at home and abroad, supporting fellow countrymen THE RAVONETTES on a tour in 2011, the band has caught the ears of critics, with Consequence of Sound praising their efforts as "nu gaze fans of M83 and THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART should enjoy." NEW CANYONS, a local outfit that delivers their extremely likeable take on melodramatic, icy synth pop, returns with songs off their debut LP Everyone is Dark, which BLVD Records released this past June. They open tonight's show and if you see em at the merch table, be sure and grab one of their LPs - your ears will thank you later. One of our favorites, DJ PHILLY PEROXIDE (who's also a member of THE BELLWETHER SYNDICATE!) will be spinning the dark and synthy and apocalyptic sounding tunes throughout the night.
