Additional Information

Corky Siegel, Chamber Blues progenitor, co-founder of the Siegel-Schwall Band and Chicago Blues Reunion participant has announced a concert event, set for Saturday, August 31 at SPACE in Evanston, 1245 Chicago Avenue, (847) 492-8860, that promises to break musical and cultural boundaries in no uncertain terms.  Siegel has arranged for for a program that melds his reverent re-imagining of the blues for which he's become so well known over the course of a career that has spanned five decades (and counting) with disparate, yet compatible iconoclastic talent of  Matthew Santos and Frank Donaldson.

Matthew Santos is a musical force whose etherial vocals earned him a Grammy nomination for his role on Lupe Fiasco's million-selling "Superstar."  Santos, now a highly regarded singer in his own right, has previously collaborated with Siegel in Chamber Blues events. Master percussionist Frank Donaldson has been a fixture with Chamber Blues for two decades.  His resume includes stints with Archie Bell & the Drells ("Tighten Up") and the Ramsey Lewis Trio for eleven years as well as work with Curtis Mayfield, Ray Charles, Bill Withers and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble.

The Saturday, August 31st event, a melange of blues, classical, pop, jazz, rock and world music starts at 7:30 PM and is billed as "a stellar night of extraordinary musical fireworks."  None of the principals has any doubt that the evening will live up to its billing.
