Co-headlining show featuring TORRES & LADY LAMB THE BEEKEEPER!

Earlier this year, Nashville singer-songwriter MACKENZIE SCOTT, who records under the name TORRES, released a rough-hewn and heartfelt self-titled debut album that caught the attention of many a critic and fan. We at the Bottle have fallen hard for SCOTT's album, especially after she made her Chicago debut on our stage this past February. TORRES takes a full band out on the road with her to fully form her distinct sound and the result is stirring and emotional, cutting to the bone with its sparse instrumentation and beautifully piercing vocals. Exploring her morbid curiosities and combining them with rootsy folk and country songwriting, ALY SPALTRO performs as LADY LAMB THE BEEKEEPER, a new and refreshingly gritty voice that blows away all the watered down acoustic "vagabonds" littering the indie-folk landscape. Her debut LP, Ripley Pine, out via Ba Da Bing!, was written, arranged and recorded all by SPALTRO and the effort's stark, raw approach embodies her urgency and strength as a songwriter. Ultimately, amongst the anger, confusion, sadness and love of her songs, SPALTRO is a champion of individuality, and this lush, powerful record showcases an emerging talent that's primed to emerge on the national scene this year. Mellow-rock ensemble JUDSON CLAIBORNE, a band that uses a humble, spare approach that feels both natural and personal, drawing listeners in completely, returns to our stage for their first show since supporting SHEARWATER last fall. They’ve recorded a new record that’s due out this year and the first 7-inch, Neon Pagan Lovesong, sees the band expanding on their intricately-arranged, punchy indie-rock. With lines like "Drunk on American dreams / High on Canadian drugs" on the B-side track "Seeing Eye Ponies," you know your ears are in for a treat or three. We’re excited to hear more new tunes from these trusty old friends who’s high-energy live show is not to be missed.
