COLLEEN GREEN lives in a purple and green haze of weed smoke and slick melodies and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her back to our stage to support this year's Sock It To Me on Art Fag Records, a delicious, all-over-the-rock'n'roll-map follow-up to last year's excellent LP Milo Goes to Compton, also out on Art Fag. With a sound heavily indebted to the forefathers of punk, garage, riot grrl and 1960s girl groups, GREEN brings a gritty, sweet and unquestionably fun twist to her self-characterized “stoner pop.” Hailing from the sleepy suburban sprawl of Orange County, CA, COSMONAUTS formed in the summer of 2009 to offer a glimpse of drug-addled SoCal rock'n'roll in the 21st century. Forging dirgey drone-pop melodies with a clanging, laser-fuzz backbone, the garage-rock four-piece is known for their wild, turned-to-eleven shows and kick-ass albums, like last year's If You Wanna Die Then I Wanna Die on good ol' Burger Records, and they've already released two 7" in 2013. Our brethren to the north, Milwaukee's JAILL returns to the Bottle for an early slot of scrappy, racing rock’n’roll. The trio released their last LP Traps on Sub Pop last summer and they’re widely considered one of the Midwest's more promising garage-rock bands. Twin brothers WYATT and FLETCHER SHEARS make up THE GARDEN and together the duo creates blasts of songs that are rarely longer than a minute and a half. THE GARDEN's style is all over the map, ranging from straight punk and hardcore to jammy psych, and we're stoked to have them open tonight's rock sexplosion.
