Dirty Old Gangsters (DOG) is an NYC-based, guitar-driven, have-a-good-time, in-your-face hard rock band, fusing elements of punk, glam, and classic rock to create a familiar, fun, and original sound. The musical diversity of DOG’s members is what makes it special:
Lead singer, guitarist, and frontman WASS STEVENS is a film and TV actor (John Wick 2, Public Morals, House of Cards, Demolition, to name but a few) and NYC nightlife legend. He brings a raw edge, sense of humor, style, and “go f-ck yourself” attitude to the DOG Crew. His tenor vocal range and nasty guitar licks might be compared to an Axl Rose, Slash, Ronnie James Dio, and Keith Richards love child. (Now THAT’S a horrible visual...) Wass co-wrote DOG’s first original
EP, New York City Hustle, and upcoming EP, Year of the DOG, with Alex Valenti.
Bassist ALEX “Alex V” VALENTI has been a musician, producer, and sound engineer since the 1985 creation of his first punk band, Noize Police. In 1986, Alex V co-founded Elektra dancehall/ska/reggae artists Skadanks, which have toured with and backed legendary reggae artists including Super Cat, Junior Reid, Terror Fabulous, Ras Shiloh, Shinehead, Sister Nancy, Sugar Minott, Junior Demus, Maxi Priest, Shabba Ranks, and Johnny Osbourne.
Guitarist MATTY PASTA adds some serious hardcore flavor, screaming guitar licks, and wiseass humor to the DOG Crew. He has played, toured, and recorded with many internationally known acts such as Subzero, Skarhead, Black Punk, Murphy’s Law, and Leeway, among others.
Keyboardist and producer RICKY “Ricky T” TEPPERBERG, one of the founding members of Skadanks, has played with and toured extensively for the past 30 years with major reggae and Caribbean artists including Dennis Brown, Super Cat, Junior Reid, Sean Paul, and Toots Hibbert. For the last 25 years he has been the bandleader of the CCB Reggae All-Stars.
Drummer ERIC “E-Man” BROWN is all about groove, yet still manages to play HARD A.F. He has toured with Rachelle Ferrell, Lalah Hathaway, Lakecia Benjamin, and Sheila E., to name a few, in addition to playing in several long-running Broadway shows. Eric is also a singer-songwriter and is supporting the release of his new R&B/soul EP, U Matter, and he teaches at the Harlem School of the Arts.
