For more than 25 years, Oregon-based doom metal trio YOB—Mike Scheidt (guitar/vocals), Aaron Rieseberg (bass), and Dave French (drums)—have built a singular body of work defined by colossal riffs, skyward vocals, deep emotional weight, and a rare spiritual gravity. From their 2002 debut Elaborations of Carbon through the widely acclaimed Our Raw Heart (2018), YOB have steadily cultivated a devoted international audience through uncompromising records and transformative live performances, earning their place as one of heavy music’s most distinctive and enduring bands.
