With Confidence’s sophomore album, Love and Loathing, was released Aug 10, 2018 and hit #1 on the Current Alternative Albums chart in the US.

The band called on veteran producer Mike Green (All Time Low, Paramore) to create Love and Loathing. An album filled with both catchy melodies and emotive lyrics, Love and Loathing carries you through first loves, blistering breakups and everything in-between. According to bassist and vocalist Jayden Seeley, the final themes weren’t clear until they had finished most of the songs.

“There's a looming relationship with loathing, mostly about the concept of self-loathing,” explains Seeley. “That period before getting into a relationship is very introspective—you’re trying to be a better person, but a lot of how that happens is because people are really hard on [themselves]. That ties back to love just as strongly, because in the relationship, you want to keep being better. In every way.”

Formed in 2012, With Confidence is lead vocalist/bassist Jayden Seeley, vocalist/guitarist Inigo Del Carmen, and drummer Joshua Brozzesi. In 2017, they took home the award for Best New Artist Music Video at the Alternative Press Music Awards and recently finished their run on the final full cross-country Vans Warped Tour.

As soon as the majestic opening licks of the album’s lead off track burst onto the speakers, it’s obvious that BROADSIDE are setting bigger and better goals the second time around.  An album of boundless energy, Paradise is a culmination of two years’ worth of experiences, sacrifices, and tireless effort, and the end result is a go-for-broke tour de force in pop-tinged punk rock.

Paradise doesn’t completely change direction from the 2015 punchy debut Old Bones, but it shows a remarkable triumph from a band that has rarely left the road since that year. With the line “The sun peeking from the tall palm trees,” the title track ‘Paradise’ sets the personality for a summer sunshine-stained statement. “The whole concept of Paradise is that you should chase that little view of happiness you create in your mind,” explains front-man Ollie Baxxter. “We often put our dreams and desires to the side believing they’re unrealistic, but this record is about building a bridge to reach your goals, your dream, your...Paradise.”

With a keen interest in the emotional inner workings of music, Cayley Spivey began writing songs in her bedroom and booking shows at a local coffee shop to create her own scene in her hometown of Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2017 she signed with Common Ground Records, toured to the Midwest and back multiple times, played 10 days of Vans Warped Tour, performed at FEST in Florida, and had her music played on local radio stations. For Cayley, it’s all about connecting with the people around her through music and wanting to give a life long memory for her audience every show.
