Australian post-rock legends WE LOST THE SEA have announced their first ever US tour for July 2025.
The band will visit Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Cleveland and conclude their visit with two separate headlining performances at Post Festival in Indianapolis.
The band are touring in support of their forthcoming fifth studio album ‘A Single Flower’ which is due for release on Friday July 4.
They are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of their iconic ‘Departure Songs’ album, which they will perform in full at Post Festival.
‘A Single Flower’ follows five years after their fourth album TRIUMPH & DISASTER which was released just ahead of the pandemic and seemed to foreshadow the era of intensity which followed. It reached the Top 50 charts in Australia upon its released, and the band’s eventual tour in support of the record saw them sell out shows across Europe, the UK, Australia & Asia.
The band’s breakout record was their critically-acclaimed 2015 album DEPARTURE SONGS which featured the standout track A Gallant Gentleman (featured in the Ricky Gervais series ‘Afterlife’). Departure Songs has amassed millions of streams worldwide and sold over 10,000 copies in physical formats.
Swiss post-rock band HUBRIS will join the tour as special guests. Known for their delay-drenched instrumental rock grooves, the well-liked progressive group return to American for the first time in 2 years.

We Lost The Sea are a cinematic instrumental band from Sydney Australia.
Formed in 2007, friends came together to create a new collection of noise that gathers relentless crushing guitars together with post-rock atmospherics and melody. Incorporating elements that hold up to the likes of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Cult Of Luna, Mogwai and Sigur Ros.
They released their first record entitled ‘Crimea’ - engineered and mixed by Magnus Lindberg of Cult of Luna in mid 2010.
In 2012, they released their second record 'The Quietest Place on Earth' through Bird's Robe Records, to acclaim from both fans and critics alike at home and internationally, making best album lists of 2012 above bands like Converge and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and best sellers on Bandcamp.
At the start of 2012, there was a slight change of line up and this breathed fresh air into the band. They kicked off the second half of 2012 with a bang, supporting Rosetta (US) and playing a handful of highly successful local shows including their sold out album launch. Lochlan Watt from Triple j's THE RACKET, put We Lost The Sea's performance supporting Rosetta as the number one Australian performance of the year in the Drum Media writers poll.
In March 2013, their close friend and vocalist of the band, Chris Torpy, sadly took his own life aged only 24. This, naturally, was devastating for the band and the rest of 2013 was a rough ride, playing only 2 shows. One was supporting This Will Destroy You at the Annandale, which was a special and emotional show for band, friends and fans alike, being the first show without Chris since the formation of the band. The other supporting The Red Paintings at the HiFi in Sydney. Both shows had great reviews and it was a powerful performance so soon after the tragedy.
2015 sees the band back releasing their third LP ‘ Departure Songs’. This record will be a slight shift away from their old dynamic, not so unintentional as maturing in sound, and the most personally experimental and emotional so far. Departure Songs is inspired by failed, yet epic and honourable journeys or events throughout history where people have done extraordinary things for the greater good of those around them, and the progress of the human race itself. Each song has it’s own story and is a soundtrack to that story.
