Wall of Sound is a Southern California-based Grateful Dead tribute band known for recreating the energy, improvisation, and expansive sound of the Dead’s live performances, with a particular focus on the band’s larger, high-powered 1980s era. The group features veteran musicians from the West Coast jam-band and Deadhead scene, including guitarist Nick Sandoval, whose résumé includes performances with Stu Allen’s Mars Hotel, Tiger Rose, Skull & Roses, and other notable Grateful Dead-related projects. The band’s mission is to honor the spirit of the Grateful Dead while bringing their own musicianship and spontaneity to every performance.
