In anticipation of the second season of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, FX is launching a ten-city stand up tour featuring Bell and his crew of writers for the show, many of whom fans will recognize from their on-air correspondent pieces. In addition to Kamau, the Totally Biased Stand Up Tour will feature a rotating lineup of comics Kevin Avery, Guy Branum, Janine Brito, Kevin Kataoka, Dwayne Kennedy, Hari Kondabolu, and Aparna Nancherla. The tour will visit Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Nashville, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Orlando – and will feature an audience Q&A with Bell and the other writers, after the show.

Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, from Bell and Executive Producers Chris Rock, Chuck Sklar and Keri Smith Esguia, stars standup comedian W. Kamau Bell as he hilariously dissects politics, pop culture, race, religion, sex and the media from his own unique point of view.  The show is a mix of Bell’s commentary, live guests, sketch comedy and taped segments.  A half-hour series, Totally Biased is produced by FX Productions and is shot in New York City before a live studio audience.

This September, with the launch of FXX, Totally Biased will go daily, with 130 new original episodes, airing Monday through Thursdaynights at 11:00 PM ET/PT, with Best of the Week compilation episodes Sunday nights at 11:00 PM ET/PT.

W. Kamau Bell, recently declared by The New York Times to be “the most promising talent in political comedy in many years,” is one of the fastest rising socio-political comics in the United States. A founding member of the stand-up comedy collective “Laughter Against the Machine,” Bell is also co-host of The Field Negro Guide to Arts & Culture podcast with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid. His stand up album, Face Full of Flour, was named one of the Top 10 Best Comedy Albums of 2010 by iTunes and Punchline Magazine.  Bell is best known for his critically acclaimed solo show “The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour,” which was a Time Out New York Critic’s Pick in the 2010 NY Comedy Festival, and a comedy pick in The Guardian during its 2011 run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

    W. Kamau Bell is a Bay Area based comedian who has been named the Bay Area's best comedian in three different publications --- SF Weekly SF Bay Guardian & 7x7 Magazine. Kamau told the very first joke about Barack Obama on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend waaaaaaaay back in 2005. Unfortunately the joke predicted that Barack would never be President. (Oops!) Comedy Central later announced that Kamau had told the very first joke about Barack Obama. For this Kamau was named on that network’s list of Best 100 Obama Moments. And that’s not everything. Kamau has twice appeared at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has been featured on HBO Canada. Kamau spent two years appearing regularly on radio station Live 105 as half of the movie review team Siskel & Negro. (Kamau is Negro.) The duo can still be heard online at their podcast at Rooftop Comedy. Kamau has another podcast with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid called The Field Negro Guide to Arts & Culture (Legally all of Kamau’s podcasts have to have the word “Negro” in the title.) In addition to Comedy Central Kamau’s other TV appearances include Comics Unleashed KQED’s Spark ABC’s View From The Bay and Filter on G4. Kamau has also been featured on several of the biggest comedy podcasts including WTF with Marc Maron Comedy & Everything Else The Sound of Young America and Jordan Jesse GO! But Kamau is most proud of co-founding The Solo Performance Workshop (2005) a school for emerging artists. As a writer Kamau is featured in the books What Would Bill Hicks Say? and At The Tea Party edited by GritTV’s Laura Flanders. Kamau has also released two stand-up comedy CD’s ONE NIGht ONLY & Face Full of Flour which was named one of the Ten Best Comedy Albums of 2010 by both iTunes & Punchline Magazine. “Smart stylish and very much in the mold of politically outspoken comedians like Dave Chappelle and Margaret Cho” - San Francisco Weekly “W. Kamau Bell is the most important guy doing comedy right now. Do yourself a favor and go see him. He’s got the most astute hilarious and completely righteous material going and he’s going to be a legend in his own lifetime like Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce. Think Bill Hicks but slightly taller.” — Margaret Cho "One of our country’s most adept racial commentators with a blistering wit and a willingness to say what you quickly realize you’ve always thought." — Punchline Magazine “Happily Bell finds comic gold in the wide range of material he mines offering provocative insights into an ugly reality. FOUR STARS” — Time Out New York
