Employing a patient but direct approach to raw sound that swells and recedes like the gales of a Midwestern storm, Virga marries elements of americana and post-punk into a distinctive sonic atmosphere exuding intimacy, even as distortion engulfs and cymbals crash.

Hailing from Lawrence, KS, Virga released their sophomore record, Eremocene, in May of 2025 on Learning Curve Records. Their music invokes a palpable relationship with nature and isolation, creating an ambience reminiscent of endless prairie and heavy fog. Tension accumulates, ever present, until it explodes and fades, but never fully resolves.
