Victor Atkins is a celebrated pianist, composer, and educator. Born and raised in Selma, Alabama, Atkins developed a deep passion for music early in life, influenced by gospel and blues traditions, he honed his craft through formal studies, earning a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music and a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music. Atkins gained prominence in the 1990s as a key member of the Grammy Award-winning jazz group Los Hombres Calientes, where his innovative arrangements and dynamic performances captivated audiences worldwide.  Victor has toured and performed with an impressive list of artists including Freddie Hubbard, Aaron Neville, Brian Blade, Lalah Hathaway, and Nicholas Payton. Tonight Victor will play alongside his quintet featuring very special guest, Ingrid Jensen. Jensen is an internationally celebrated jazz musician and trumpet player known for her distinctive voice and close musical collaboration.  Renowned for her lyrical, powerful sound and Jensen has performed with artists such as Maria Schneider, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and ARTEMIS, a powerhouse all-women jazz supergroup co-founded under the International Women in Jazz banner. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
