Death Metal/Black Metal
UADA
UADA
Death Metal/Black Metal
Since their formation in 2014, Uada's rise has been meteoric. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, the band quietly released their debut album, Devoid of Light in 2016 through and word of mouth quickly built from there: here was BLACK METAL writ large, classic and uncompromising but brimming with power, soul, and artistry, and all without bluster and bathos. Uada's debut album surely expanded the lexicon of the melodic black metal idiom, and the underground took notice.
Two years later came Cult of a Dying Sun, whereby the band further perfected their craft and compellingly took to the stage, their performances garnering as much acclaim as their recordings. During all this, more than the underground started to take notice; the name Uada was on the tongues of folks usually reticent to black metal.
In 2020, almost effortlessly, Uada fully perfect their craft and delivered Djinn. Simply titled but by no means simple in construction nor execution, Djinn builds upon the increasingly ambitious songwriting of its no-less-considerable predecessor, but pushes their dazzling artistry into nearly Technicolor landscapes of the Beyond.

Mortiis
Industrial Metal
After Mortiis left Emperor, the Norwegian black metal band he was part of starting, in late 1992, he started Mortiis as a solo project, and released a number of solo records between 1993 and 1999. Released mostly on the cold meat industry and Earache labels. Reinvented as a band, Mortiis released The Smell of Rain in 2001 (a 2002 remastered, feat remixes by Lustmord was released). Followed by The Grudge in 2004, and remix album Some Kind of Heroin in 2006 (feat In The Nursery, Gothminister, David Wallace, Funker Vogt, Velvet Acid Christ, The Kovenant etc) Disenfranchised with the brutality and hypocrisy of the music industry, Mortiis did not release the new album "Perfectly Defect" until 2010, – as a tour only CD, and a free download through their own website. The Great Deceiver was completed in 2013, but did not see the light of day until 2016 due mostly to events beyond the band´s control. The Great Deceiver was released in March 2016. April 2017 saw The Great Corrupter an album with over 20 reworks of songs from The Great Deceiver, by artists as Godflesh, Die Krupps, In Slaughter Natives, Chris Vrenna, John Fryer, Prurient, Merzbow, Apoptygma Berzerk, PIG, Rhys Fulber + remix projects with En Esch and Marc Urselli, etc. Mortiis has toured with among others: Danzig, Behemoth, Apoptygma Berzerk, Combichrist, Christian Death, Mushroomhead, Genitorturers, Deathstars, Mayhem, etc. Mortiis is currently working on his next album, tentatively titled "Tribes Of Dystopia"
