    Heavy Metal

Truckfighters are back with the sizzling new album V. Yup, you guessed it, it’s their fifth album and it’s pretty great.

If you are interested in groovy, stoner-influenced, progressive and melodic hard rock you probably know about Truckfighters already. “The best band that ever existed” as Josh Homme said in the 2011 “fuzzomentary” Truckfighters. You might also know the story about how Niklas ‘Dango‘ Källgren teamed up with bassist and vocalist Oskar ‘Ozo’ Cedermalm in a worn down rehearsal space in Örebro, Sweden in 2001 and how the first song they ever recorded, Desert Cruiser, since then has gone on to become a desert rock anthem. You probably also know that the band itself has gone on to release four full length albums and played sold out shows on four continents.

The band’s upcoming fifth album, V, is released September 30th under exclusive license to the established label Century Media Records.
“Century Media have been very cool with us. We’ve been able to keep that do it yourself-philosophy of ours, to focus solely on our creative process and producing the album”, says Ozo.

V continues the Truckfighters tradition of blending big riffs, dynamism and intricate songwriting.
“The album won’t come as a huge surprise for those who’ve heard our earlier work – but at the same time it feels like a leap forward. We’ve been able to create some of our best songs so far. For us this is definitely the album of the year”, says Dango and laughs.

If you know your Truckfighters you know their history with drummers. It’s been a few. “We use to say that Truckfighters has a ‘very Spinal Tap relationship’ to drummers,” says Niklas, “but we are really happy with the contributions of Daniel ‘El Danno’ Israelsson on V”. “Also, it’s pretty cool that we got our friend, drummer extraordinaire Peter Damin – known from the Paradise Lost album Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us – to play the drums on the track The 1.”

  • Mothership

    Hard Rock

Supersonic intergalactic heavy rock trio Mothership based out of Dallas, Texas give a real sense of hope that all is well in the universe, and that pure honest rock and roll has once again returned to this planet on a mission to unite true believers. Consisting of brothers Kyle Juett on bass/lead vocals, Kelley Juett on guitar/vocals, and Judge Smith on drums, these guys have created a unique sound that satisfies like a steaming hot stew of UFO and Iron Maiden, blended with the southern swagger of Molly Hatchet and ZZ Top, paired with a deadly chalice of Black Sabbath. Mothership’s goal from the beginning has been to carry on the tradition of the classic rock style of the ’70′s, updated and amped up for the modern day. The band has been non-stop road warriors since the release of their debut album in February 2013 on Ripple Music successfully invading the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe playing either on festival stages, night clubs, or outdoors under the sun at motorcycle parties. This heavy rock juggernaut has only just begun their tear across the universal cosmos and have no plans of ever slowing down. Do not miss your chance to hop on board and TRIP ON THE SHIP.

  • ZED

The Valley of the Riff is well inhabited and plentiful in its offerings and the beauty of its vast sprawl is that there is room for many. Making their presence well-known with heavy footprints and sonically indelible marks are San Jose-based Earth shakers ZED. A sound based on core principles of the blues, heaviness, groove, and feel this San Francisco Bay Area quartet is the genuine article, Ladies & Gentlemen. The sound is as organic as it is raw.
No bell bottoms, wizard sleeves, or hip huggers for this crew. It’s a barrage of head-bobbing, air-guitaring, hip-shaking, blues-driven rock as delivered by the bastards of rock & roll. With equal appeal to the fuzz-box mercenaries, stoner-rockers safety meeting in a ’74 Chevy van, and horns-thrusting metalheads pressed against the stage, this band refuses to conform or brandish a manufactured label.
Showing the maturity and confidence to explore the full gamut of their influences and what inspires them internally, ZED is set to offer their third full-length album “Trouble In Eden” with an August 26th release date on Ripple Music. “Trouble In Eden” is a literal collection of blood, sweat, and tears crafted together with raw, personal, relative lyrical content. Tales touching on religious-fueled tragedy, societal reflection, struggles with mental anguish, loss, and perseverance, this album is one for all to relate to. Drop the needle, push play, crank the knob, push the volume high and prepare to be intoxicated by the potion ZED is offering. – Dylan Dominguez-Waltz

Blasting onto the San Francisco Bay Area rock scene in 2007, ZED quickly made a name for themselves with their crushing live shows and incessant grooves. Having played together in various projects since 1998, including releasing an album with the band Stitch for Prosthetic/Metal Blade Records, Guitarist/Vocalist Peter Sattari, drummer Rich Harris and bassist Mark Aceves joined up with guitar wizard Greg Lopes to create a sound that was uniquely their own, a sound whose sole purpose was to rock, with no concern for genres, labels, classifications or rules. Drawing from their varied influences ranging from classic ’70s rock, punk/hardcore, metal and old school funk, ZED writes music that grabs you, throws you around and grooves you all at once. The band has been likened to “a pissed off Led Zeppelin with Chris Cornell meets Ian Astbury on vocals,” ZED writes songs that linger in your head long after you listen to them.

ZED independently released their sophomore album Desperation Blues in May of 2013, which garnered critical acclaim as well as charting on CMJ throughout the summer. Supporting the album up and down the west coast, ZED has played consistently through the fall of 2014 when they began focusing on writing their follow up to Desperation Blues, Trouble In Eden, which is also their debut for Ripple Music. ZED is excited and proud to be a part of the Ripple Music family and look forward to making heads bob and asses shake in 2016 and beyond.
