Join us for a powerful evening celebrating the life and legacy of Ellis Marsalis, the legendary pianist, composer, and educator who shaped the sound of modern New Orleans jazz. This special tribute brings together two of his most accomplished musical disciples and collaborators — Jason Marsalis and Victor Goines — for a night of extraordinary musicianship and heartfelt homage. Jason Marsalis, the youngest of the Marsalis brothers, is a virtuosic drummer and vibraphonist known for his deep groove, technical brilliance, and playful creativity. A member of the Marsalis Family Band and the Snarky Puppy collaborator circle, Jason continues his father’s legacy through innovative performances that bridge New Orleans tradition and modern jazz expression. Victor Goines, a world-renowned saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and longtime member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, is celebrated for his soulful tone and intricate improvisation. A native of New Orleans and former student of Ellis Marsalis, Goines has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Roberts, and dozens of jazz greats while serving as Director of Jazz Studies at Northwestern University. Goines is currently the  President & Chief Executive Officer of Jazz St. Louis. Together, they honor Ellis Marsalis’ immense influence — as a teacher, mentor, and musical visionary — through inspired performances of his compositions and classic jazz repertoire. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
