Cover sets for Halloween featuring TREASURE covering DEVO, DAEMON FAMILIAR covering SUGAR, GRANT'S HEART covering GRANT HART, and DAMAGED GODS covering GANG OF FOUR!
Treasure is a mash-up local group who came from other projects in the Chicago scene. They wanted to experiment and create and try some daring original stuff plus just have a really great time with really awesome people. And that's exactly what they did.
Daemon Familiar is a Chicago-based trio that revels in the power pop tradition of catchy melodies and harmonies backed by roaring guitars, growling bass and thumping drums. Drawing heavily from their stockpile of influences, including Cheap Trick, Hüsker Dü, and Sloan, they’re determined to deliver songs so unforgettable they'll be tattooed on your cerebral cortex. Daemon Familiar has built a following by playing Chicago venues such as Double Door, The Hideout, Empty Bottle, Abbey Pub, Subterranean, Reggie’s and Beat Kitchen. They were also one of four national finalists in the George Killian’s Irish Red Ruckus 2011 contest. The band released its debut album, Dawn of the Albatross, to strong reviews in 2009, with the Illinois Entertainer proclaiming, "...there's no denying the crunchy sweetness of Daemon Familiar's Dawn Of The Albatross." Their follow-up, Brontosaurus Rex, received equally strong praise, with The Big Takeover declaring, “On a bill with The Embarrassment, Paul Collins’ Beat, and The Barracudas, I’ll bet they’d hold their own.”
Eric Mahle (Hüsker Düdes, Sünken Ships) pays tribute to the life & music of Grant Hart.
Damaged Gods are a potent Post Punk Funk Dub Tribute to Gang Of Four.
