Tivon Pennicott is a three–time GRAMMY Award winning tenor saxophonist for his performances on Esperanza Spalding’s Radio Music Society (2012); and on singer Gregory Porter’s Blue Note albums Liquid Spirit (2013) and Take Me To The Alley(2017). Other significant sideman credits include Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor, Ari Hoenig (The Pauper & the Magician and NY Standard), and Kenny Burrell (Be Yourself). The saxopho­nist is a fixture on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” as a regular member of the Stay Human Band with Jon Batiste. Meanwhile, Pennicott has developed impressive skills as a leader since the 2014 release of his debut CD Lover of Nature.
