Tinderbox Circus Sideshow is a classic traditional traveling carnival-style ten-in-one touring sideshow. Their antics include feats of what you might think when thinking of the side tent at the circus of old : Sword Swallowing, The Wasp-Waisted Woman, The Human Blockhead(s), Glass Walking (or jumping), Fire Eating (not breathing, unless requested). An all-american classic circus sideshow, combining timeless acts of shock and amazement with a punk rock presentation, and a dirty south attitude. The result is a uniquely modern experience; unlike anything else in today's entertainment industry. They spend over half of the year touring the country bringing their version of weird to the masses in bars, clubs, theaters, dives, restaurants, fairs, parking lots, fields, back alleys...anywhere somebody'll hire 'em. Since 2014, they have self-produced 7 tours and performed over 400 shows from east to west. Tinderbox is the last remaining professionally organized and accredited touring sideshows in the country, with awards from five organizations and festivals within their industry for the work they contribute to the showperson's industry in general including : "The 2017 Spotlight Award" from the Southern Sideshow Hootenanny (previously "The Sideshow Gathering" held in Philadelphia) "Masters of Amazement 2015" from nationally-reknowned competition organization Burlypicks & "Best Act 2015" from the Southern Fried Burlesque & Sideshow Festival Their flavor is a hard one to pin down. They are able to walk into a room, no matter where it be, and read it to its fullest capacity--from the regulars sitting having their drinks to the region surrounding the location--and put on a show that is catered directly to the people and for the people. Tinderbox cares about their audiences and strives to showcase their trade in a way that is manageable (though still exciting!) to all ages, backgrounds, and proclivities. Tinderbox can pair well with any music in any variety. They have worked with artists like The Legendary Shack Shakers, Here Come the Mummies, Ford Theatre Reunion, The Dresden Dolls, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, 20 Watt Tombstone, and many many more as well as toured on the Oddball Comedy & Curiosity tour with Louis C.K., Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari, and more. A local support band is always welcome on a bill with Tinderbox, and they make new friends in new genres every time they go out.
