Multi Grammy winner Tim O’Brien has an been essential part of the folk, bluegrass, and Americana scenes for the past fifty years. The multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter first emerged in the 1980’s with Bluegrass Hall of Famers Hot Rize. Kathy Mattea brought his songs “Walk the Way the Wind Blows” and “Untold Stories” to the Country top ten in the late ‘80s, and his songs have since been covered by artists like Alison Krauss, the Seldom Scene, Garth Brooks, and the Dixie Chicks. Tonight’s show, a twenty-song overview of his long career, launches the new Tim O’Brien Songbook, with accompanists Shad Cobb (fiddle) and Nathaniel Smith (cello), and other special guests.

This special Bluegrass on 3rd performance offers an intimate, twenty-song journey through Tim’s remarkable career and celebrates the release of the Tim O’Brien Songbook.
