The Weeklings New Release “Studio 2” Captures Vintage ‘60s Sound:
Album recorded at Abbey Road features 4 ultra-rare compositions by Lennon, McCartney and Harrison & 8 Weeklings originals. When you drop the needle on the new Weeklings album “Studio 2” (yes..it’s on vinyl as well as limited edition cassette, CD, and download) you may think you’ve discovered a lost treasure from the 1960’s British Invasion.
That would be because the album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, in the historic Studio 2, using vintage 1960’s equipment and some of the same instruments used by the Beatles (including the actual piano used in “A Day in the Life”)to produce all those iconic albums.
The Weeklings second album is, once again, a huge nod to the band that inspired these 4 talented professionals to become musicians in the first place. Once again, they’ve unearthed some very rare unrecorded songs penned by both Lennon/McCartney and Lennon/McCartney/Harrison!
The band’s debut album, “Monophonic”, received heavy rotation on many radio stations since its release in March 2015.The song “You Know What To Do” earned the title of “Coolest Song in the World” on Sirius/XM’s “Little Steven’s Underground Garage” channel. In addition, The Weeklings recorded an hour long “Loft Session” for legendary DJ Mike Marrone on Sirius/XM Channel 30.
