The Sidepieces is a country band with a rotating cast of Chicago singers and players revisiting a range of mostly sad songs, some recent/some old, some familiar/some hidden gems, some traditional/some unorthodox. Led by Jordan Martins on pedal steel, The Sidepieces play these songs in order to listen to each other, improvise, find the form, invite surprises, and stretch the sounds that inhabit the song. Current members include Angela James, Sam Cantor, Elizabeth Moen, Matt Gold, Ryan Norris, Kelsey Wild, Raul Cotaquispe, Nolan Chin, Gus Martini, and Chris Salveter (Judson Claiborne) among others Listening, talking, weeping, dancing, and laughing are all encouraged from the audience
