The Psycho Realm is an American hip hop group started in 1989 by brothers Sick Jacken (Joaquín Gonzalez) and Big Duke (Gustavo Gonzalez) from the Downtown, Pico-Union area of Los Angeles.
History[edit]
The group started as a duo of Sick Jacken and Big Duke in 1989; the two were later joined by JoJo in 1993. Jojo would leave the group in 1995, only for Cypress Hill member B-Real to join them from 1995-1997.
The first recorded Psycho Realm song, "Scandalous," was released on the soundtrack of the film, Mi Vida Loca, in 1994. That same year B-Real of the rap group Cypress Hill saw Psycho Realm performing at Olvera Street for an End Barrio Warfare concert. Their performance inspired B-Real to the point that he wanted to join the group.

Jose Martin, better known as Conejo, is a rap artist and cultural figure in his native Los Angeles who has released over 100 albums.
In the late 1980s, Conejo began crafting music alongside Black Eyed Peas DJ Motive8 and continued the relationship through the early 90s. His music helped paint a picture of the harsh reality of the lives of young gang members in inner-city L.A, and while Conejo's music didn't glamorize gang culture, the vivid depictions of his life presented deeply relatable stories that rapidly attracted supporters of his music. His lyrics provided a glimpse of the crime-infested environment and sad reality that plagued many immigrant families.
