A timeless rock & roll band for the modern world, The Prescriptions sharpen their sound with Time Apart. Produced by Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes) and Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs), the album funnels a half-century of American and British sounds — including taut power-pop, explorative indie rock, jangling heartland hooks, and New Wave nuances — into something sharp and singular. The result is a warm, widescreen follow-up to The Prescriptions' 2019 debut, Hollywood Gold, its songs balanced halfway between classic craftsmanship and progressive exploration.

Originally from Cincinnati, Sam Hoffman is an indie rock musician based in Nashville. His latest release, Books on Tape, was called “‘60s and ‘70s post-Beatles pop as filtered through the lens of, say, The Olivia Tremor Control” by the Nashville Scene. The album was also recorded by bandmate Drew Carroll at The Bomb Shelter – the same studio as Mitski’s This Land is Inhospitable and So Are We. More recently, Hoffman has played at Nashville’s own Musicians Corner music festival, opened for Bob Mould of Hüsker Dü & Sugar at Third Man’s Blue Room, and is currently writing his third album. Hoffman’s music has been featured in publications such as Aquarium Drunkard, Nashville Scene, Obscure Sound, any various others. WRVU Nashville says, “Hoffman’s laid back rock tinged with acoustic and steel guitars is the perfect thing to start a September evening at the park.”

Miller Tracy is an up-and-coming musician who spent the last decade honing his craft across Nashville, Chicago, and Seattle. He returns to Nashville to premiere his debut LP, With John, a kaleidoscopic indie rock album recorded at Club Roar Recording Studio with the Prescriptions (Hays Ragsdale, Parker McAnnally, Ben Parks), Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes), Curry Winborn, Corin Dubie, and David Williford. Produced by McAnnally, it fuses the rebelliousness of American rock and roll with the inventive and allusive subtleties of art rock. If you’re itching to move and hungry for enchantment, you don’t want to miss it!
