*Happy Hour Free Concert Series* featuring The Pfister Sisters
The Pfister Sisters are a renowned New Orleans vocal trio celebrated for their close harmonies and spirited performances that pay homage to the city's rich jazz heritage. Formed in 1979 by Holley Bendtsen, Suzy Malone, and Yvette Voelker, the group was inspired by the legendary Boswell Sisters, pioneers of jazz vocal harmony in the 1920s. Their debut at the 1980 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival marked the beginning of a vibrant career, during which they've shared stages with icons like Linda Ronstadt, Dr. John, and Maxene Andrews of the Andrews Sisters. Over the years, the ensemble has evolved, with Karen Stoehr joining in 2018, continuing the tradition of dynamic female vocalists.
Beyond their local acclaim, the Pfister Sisters have graced international stages, including performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center and festivals across Europe. Their discography features albums like "All's Well That's Boswell," a tribute to their musical forebears, and "Puttin' It On," which showcases their versatility and deep roots in New Orleans jazz. Whether performing at the French Quarter Festival or in intimate club settings, the Pfister Sisters continue to enchant audiences with their blend of vintage charm and contemporary flair.
