The Number Twelve Looks Like You
Grindcore
Born from the chaotic New Jersey underground in 2001, The Number Twelve Looks Like You built their legacy on uncompromising musical intensity and forward-thinking experimentation. Taking their name from a dystopian Twilight Zone episode about conformity, the band has spent two decades doing the exact opposite—crafting a sound that defies categorization and refuses to stay still.
Their early work—the serial-killer concept EP Put On Your Rosy Red Glasses (2003) and the genre-destroying Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear. (2005)—established them as mathcore pioneers, blending grindcore ferocity with jazz fusion complexity and avant-garde unpredictability. Mongrel (2007) and Worse Than Alone (2009) pushed further into progressive territory before the band went on hiatus in 2010.
The 2016 reunion brought renewed energy and the acclaimed Wild Gods (2019), marking a creative renaissance. After a five-year gap, the band returned in 2024 with "Eyes on the Fireworks," their first release featuring new members Michael DeMarco (drums) and Cody McCorry (bass) alongside founding members Jesse Korman (vocals) and Alexis Pareja (guitar). The politically charged single signaled a new chapter—one of personal growth, sonic evolution, and undiminished intensity.
With a new album on Equal Vision Records slated for later in 2026, The Number Twelve Looks Like You continues to prove that chaos and precision, brutality and beauty, can coexist in the same breath.
