The Klezmatics & Friends at Sony Hall, NYC – January 9, 2025
    An Unforgettable World Music Celebration

Kick off the new year in style with The Klezmatics, performing live at Sony Hall on January 9, in the heart of New York City. This landmark concert brings together a unique fusion of cultures and artists, creating an evening of world-class music that will resonate long after the final note.

For four decades, The Klezmatics have been at the forefront of music innovation. Not just the pioneers of the klezmer revival in the 1980s, the band has continuously evolved, reimagining and expanding klezmer's boundaries while inspiring generations of musicians. Their blend of klezmer with diverse global traditions has made them a standout presence in the world music scene, collaborating with extraordinary artists worldwide.

Sony Hall provides the perfect stage for this milestone event. Known for their deep roots in East Village and as a cornerstone of New York's world music community, The Klezmatics are creating a one-of-a-kind event that promises unforgettable performances and a sense of cultural connection.

Joining The Klezmatics for this special evening are the talented musicians of La Manga, a collective of Colombian women artists.

La Manga is a cultural identity laboratory that draws from the rich traditions of Colombia’s Caribbean coast, celebrating the power of Afro-Colombian tambores (Tambor Alegre, Tambora, and Llamador), bullerengue, cumbia, and tambora. This collective, composed of Daniela Serna, Andrea Chavarro, Katherine Ocampo, and Lina Fernanda Silva, honors Black and Indigenous oral traditions through storytelling, sung dances, and community-building. Their music connects ancestral rhythms with contemporary creativity, fostering a vibrant space for women to engage with and celebrate these timeless traditions.

This concert is more than a show—it’s a celebration of cultural heritage, collaboration, and the power of music to bring people together. Come for the music, stay for the energy, and be part of an unforgettable evening with one of the world’s most influential klezmer bands and their incredible friends.
