Utility Life first convened at the Gear Factory in 2009, when a group of Syracuse stalwarts came together to perform the songs of singer / rhythm-guitarist Dustin Regnar. A signature of the band is the poignant trombone of Tina Zagyva, counterpointing Dustin's vocals. Adam Lindaman tastefully shreds on guitar, and the rhythm section is anchored by Jake Lamanna (bass), Leslie Brennan (percussion), and Elias Gwinn (drums). Utility Life shows are rare - maybe 1 or 2 per year - making each experience intimate and memorable. Unfamiliar audiences are usually pleasantly surprised by the unique tones and arrangements that define the dirge-rock of Utility Life, described by the band as "music for a drunken funeral procession."
