The band released singles “Falling for Nothing” and “New Wave War” ahead of their debut album, titled Methomania, set to release sometime during the Spring of 2023. Grunge
The Daze was formed in early 2020 in Jefferson, Ohio by a group of high school friends during the COVID-19 lockdown. Their music style is a combination of hard alternative, psychedelic, and progressive rock, with elements of funk & metal. The Daze has seen numerous lineup changes throughout the years but has consistently been at the helm of Grier and Johnson for quite some time now.
The band released singles “Falling for Nothing” and “New Wave War” ahead of their debut album, titled Methomania, which was released in the summer of 2023. The group also released their EP, Red Mark EP a year before in 2022. The year 2024 saw the addition of Zeke Brake (Assault, The Brakes) to the line-up on lead guitar. The year after, Tyler Smith (Zoloft) was added on bass. That same year, the band's second EP, Skies, was released on all platforms with singles "Time As It Stands" and "Start Again."
The groups' studio work has consistently been praised by critics. "The Daze have done it again, providing a collection of tracks that show the music scene is alive and well. When it comes to creativity and individuality in music, The Daze boys are second to none and show it time and time again!" (Style, WSRRRadio.com on Skies EP)
“Methomania will bring you back to the primal energy of performing in your first band, after you finally honed in your fuzz pedal and learned a thing or two about songwriting, of course.” (Nick Sessanna, BuffaBlog.com)
“For a seasoned grunge enthusiast like myself, echoes of early Nirvana vibes resonate through their work, although it would be a disservice to pigeonhole their sound within that paradigm. Imagine intertwining the gritty allure of Queens Of The Stone Age with the sonic exploration of Ty Segall, and you start to grasp the captivating essence of The Daze.” (pitchperfectsite.com)
The band is actively playing shows, trying to attract any and all attention. You can catch the band’s shows by staying up to date on their Instagram and Facebook pages.
