Originally from California, Sebastien's musical journey started in Arkansas, where he fell in love with bluegrass. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, he travels the USA with renowned artist Wayne “The Train” Hancock, showcasing his exceptional talent on the upright bass. With his powerful 1950’s growl, old school rockabilly sound, Bodhi Corbett conjures up the bygone days of California’s Dave & Phil Alvin’s band The Blasters. Growing up in a musical family, Corbett naturally found his roots in the history of Americana and Rock n’ Roll, and began playing harmonica and guitar at an early age. Sitting in at jams with his parents, he honed his talents and was soon impressing some of LA’s most sought after musicians, resulting in Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench, playing on his freshman EP, Shiny Shoes. Bodhi’s release, Evelyn (2023), features Jay Bellerose (Robert Plant & Alison Krause, Rhiannon Giddens) on drums, Jonathan Flaugher (Andra Day, Peter Case) on bass, Brett Farkas (Rhianna, Aimee Mann) on guitars, Phil Krohnengold (Sara Bareilles, Milk Carton Kids) on keys, and Erica Canales (The Killers) on background vocals. Produced by Jonathan Flaugher and executive produced by Nicky Corbett, Evelyn’s 10 original tracks showcase Bodhi’s knack for weaving musical influences from the past with modern songwriting.
