Join us on April 21st, at the historic Howard Theater, for “The Biggest Open Gem Ever part 2”! Home of the original talent showcase pre-dating the Apollo Theater, this is the perfect place for talent to shine.
Open Gem USA was founded in 2017 by Nature Boi and Sarcia Adkins. It has grown from a simple open mic/showcase in a D.C. bar to a national platform giving creatives across the country a safe and welcoming environment to express themselves. With partnerships with Funk Parade DC, DC Music Summit, and Live Nation, Open Gem has traveled to over 7 states and counting, expanding the footprint of both the brand and the creatives that are a part of the community. This premier open mic experience is open to all performers - singers, rappers, producers, poets, comedians, instrumentalists, and dancers, while spotlighting Ché Noir as the headliner.
Ché Noir, a Buffalo-based emcee and producer, is known for delivering strong and direct lyrics over production inspired by mid-'90s East Coast rap. Drawing from inspirations including Rhapsody, Foxy Brown & Jay-Z to name a few. A phenomenal storyteller, Ché carved her own path in such a male-dominated genre by building an impressive music catalog with artists such as Benny The Butcher, 38 Spesh, & Black Thought to name a few. Her vulnerable but powerful lyrics and captivating performances have earned her a following of over 11k+ subscribers on YouTube and 119k+ monthly Spotify listeners. With albums such as 2020's "As God Intended" and 2022's "Food for Thought," Ché Noir demonstrates her range of styles and techniques, from nostalgic reminiscences to crime-driven narratives.
Join us for a night of creativity and self-expression, featuring special DMV guests and the talented Che Noir. For more info on tickets and signing up to perform, text “Howard" to 443-347-6414.
