We have been waiting since June of 2023 to have The Band of Heathens back at Chickie Wah Wah, after they absolutely rocked a capacity crowd. The long-running Austin Texas roots rock band is one of the most underrated touring bands out there right now – if you don’t know them prepare to be converted. The fact that they had a record produced by Texas legend Ray Wylie Hubbard speaks volumes about their authenticity as songwriters and as badass rockers. Soul is in their wheelhouse too as evidenced by 2018’s Message from the People Revisited (inspired by Ray Charles). They have played with a who’s who of Americana and Rock – Margo Price, Ray, the Mavericks, Hayes Carll, and more.
They have been on Austin City Limits, they have been on Rockpalast in Germany, but bandmember Ed Jurdi told us they really love Chickie Wah Wah. Come join us as they kick off the first night of our Fest-o-Matic series on Wednesday April 23rd at 10pm. No curfew.
