“The 88 Show with Avery Pearson” is celebrating its second anniversary with a special concert featuring the best comedy songs from the past two years of shows at The Hollywood Improv. Avery Pearson will be singing comedy duets with some of our favorite past guests, new friends and surprise special guests.

Avery Pearson is a comedian, actor, and musician whose original comedy music has been featured on SNL, Broadway, and Netflix. He wrote and performed opening numbers on ‘The ESPYs’ and ‘NFL Honors’ as well as the Emmy-winning ‘Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson’. Avery served as the music director and wrote all the songs for ‘Historical Roasts with Jeff Ross’ and ‘Back That Year Up’ (Peacock). His appearances include ‘Iliza’s Locals’ (Hulu), ‘The Hall’ (Netflix), ‘Bill Burr’s Friends Who Kill’ (Netflix), ‘Masters of Sex’ (Showtime), WYFD? (Apple TV), and 'Suits' (USA). Avery co-wrote and co-directed the music video 'Christmas Magic' featuring 60 all-star comics (Howie Mandel, Adam Devine, Richard Lewis) to benefit the charity Comedy Gives Back.
A staple of the comedy scene, Avery tours his signature comedy music show ‘Comedian Rhapsody’ and produces two hit live shows in Los Angeles: Comedy Crush (The Hollywood Improv) and Keys to the Store (The Comedy Store). He's also been featured at JFL, Moontower and New York Comedy Festival. His special GIVE IT UP, AVERY PEARSON was released by Veeps & Pinch Records and his solo comedy music album drops in the Fall of 2025.

Mike Glazer recently got Kanye West to quit X (Twitter), but that's a longer story that involves Elon Musk, Taylor Swift, and being called a "Jew Pig" by a Nazi heckler, which went mega-viral and was reported on by TMZ. Before taking down Fascism, Glazer smashed his 2024 Netflix is a Joke Fest Presents: Mike Glazer show. After that performance for a sold-out crowd at the biggest comedy festival in the world, Glazer performed in his first arena for the NHL Awards. Glazer has also had beyond memorable performances at two of the largest festivals in America, Outside Lands and SXSW, plus shows with Don't Tell Los Angeles, Comedy Central, and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has written for HBO's Night of Too Many Stars (which earned him an Emmy nomination) and competed on Food Network's Worst Cooks in America. SCOUT DURWOOD is an LA based writer/comedian. Her debut studio album, TAKE ONE THING OFF, was released with Blue Élan Records along with a twenty-two episode digital series of the same name, written and directed by Scout, which was nominated for Best Indie Series at the 2019 Streamy Awards. In 2020 and 2021 and she released follow up EP’s, COMEDY ELECTRONICA VOL. 1 & 2 and is currently in post production on her second feature length visual album, YOUTOPIA. Scout starred in MTV’s scripted comedy, MARY+JANE and FUNNY GIRLS on Oxygen. Her thirty minute comedy special is available on the Epix series, UNPROTECTED SETS. Scout is an accomplished cabaret singer and nationally touring comedian.

Michelle Ortiz is a comedian on the CW’s reboot of “MadTV.” She has officially bumped up the number of Latinas currently on late-night sketch comedy shows. Known for her brazen and bold humor, she studied at the prestigious Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia and trained as a classical opera singer in Germany. Ortiz participated in the 2014 ABC Diversity Showcase and the 2016 CBS Diversity Showcase. Her television credits include “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Life in Pieces”, “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn” and “MadTV”.

A towering force in comedy, Erik Griffin is an American actor, comedian, writer, and podcaster. He is best known for his work as the mustachioed Montez Walker on the hit Comedy Central series WORKAHOLICS as well as his series regular role in Showtime’s I’M DYING UP HERE, executive produced by Jim Carrey. He recently filmed the ABC pilot BUCKTOWN opposite Nicole Richie and the feature film MR. RUSSO written and directed by Ray Romano.
Griffin was featured in the global Netflix film MURDER MYSTERY alongside Adam Sandler as well as THE SLEEPOVER for Netflix, Laurie Collyer’s FURLOUGH and the indie feature MAYFIELD'S GAME. Griffin can also be seen in the box office hit MIKE & DAVE NEED WEDDING DATES.
A veteran stand-up headliner, Griffin performs in venues across the world, but most often can be seen at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, CA. Griffin’s comedy is immortalized on his debut comedy album, TECHNICAL FOUL: VOLUME ONE, his Comedy Central special THE HALF HOUR, in addition to his two hour-long comedy specials titled THE UGLY TRUTH, and AMERIKAN WARRIOR, which are available to stream NOW on Amazon and Showtime respectively.

Actress and comedian Arden Myrin became a new cast member on Showtime’s Shameless Season 7, and recently appeared in the world premiere of Steve Martin’s new play Meteor Shower. As a comedian Arden tours across the country and co-hosts a comedy show in Los Angeles called The Tinkle Twins at Meltdown Comics with Dana Gould. Arden appeared on Chelsea Lately over 100 times, and was a regular panelist on @Midnight. She was a cast member of MadTV for the final four seasons, and is the host of the Nerdist podcast Will You Accept This Rose? about The Bachelor/The Bachelorette franchise. Her television credits include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Insatiable, Orange is The New Black, Hung, Key and Peele, Inside Amy Schumer, W/ Bob and David, Fresh Off the Boat, Reno 911, Suburgatory, 2 Broke Girls, and Gilmore Girls among others. Preacher Lawson was born in Portland, OR, but spent most of his adolescence in Memphis, TN. He moved 20 times before the age of 10, but if you asked him what city he's from he'd say Orlando, FL, because that's where he grew as a comedian. Lawson is best known for his appearance on season 12 of NBC’s hit series, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT (2017) where he made it to the final round. Based off his stellar performance in season 12, Lawson was invited to compete on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT: THE CHAMPIONS (2019) and BRITAN’S GOT TALENT: THE CHAMPIONS (2019) where he advanced to the finale after receiving the most fan votes. Most recently he was handpicked by Howie Mandell to participate in AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: FANTASY LEAGUE (2024). Lawson shot his first stand-up special, GET TO KNOW ME, which premiered on BET+ in 2019, then Amazon. His most recent special MY NAME IS PREACHER is set to be released globally on YouTube on March 14th 2024.
In Television, Lawson can be seen on HBO’s A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE with TIM ROBINSON, TOURNAMENT OF LAUGHS on TBS, as well as NBC’s CONNECTING as a series regular. For over 13 years, from the stage to the silver screen, Steve Rannazzisi has made audiences laugh. Currently, Rannazzisi stars and writes alongside Katie Aselton, Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, Jonathan Lajoie, and Paul Scheer on the critically acclaimed FX Network comedy series, The League, which is produced by Jeff and Jackie Schaffer. Steve plays “Kevin McArthur,” the fantasy football league commissioner on the show, which will premiere its 7th and final season on Wednesday, September 9th on FXX, FX’s sister station.
Rannazzisi recently filmed his second, one-hour comedy special, Breaking Dad, at the historic Wilbur Theatre in Boston. The special premieres September 19th on Comedy Central and follows Rannazzisi’s 2013 critically acclaimed Comedy Central special “Steve Rannazzisi:
Manchild.” Earlier this year, Rannazzisi wrapped up his national Strawberry Blonde Ambition comedy tour and he is currently the spokesman for the sports restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings.
Rannazzisi emerged on the scene in Los Angeles after leaving a desk job in New York where he grew up. The Long Island native graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase, majoring in Theater and Film. Pursuing his dream, Rannazzisi moved to Los Angeles and began performing at the world-famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. where he honed his skills amongst comedy veterans such as Eddie Griffin, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Dice Clay. Most recently he appeared in the Netflix comedy series, "Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!" opposite Jamie Foxx. Kite shined as Johnny Williams, Brian's (Foxx) best friend since childhood, and an honorary member of the family. The series, inspired by Foxx's real-life relationship with his daughter Corinne, is currently streaming globally on Netflix.
Kite may be best known for his starring role as the hilarious and lovable Ukrainian cook Oleg in CBS' long-running, award-winning comedy series "2 Broke Girls" opposite Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. The show, created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings, ran from 2011-2017 and was nominated for 12 Emmy Awards and four People's Choice Awards.
Additional credits for Kite include indie comedy feature "The Bellman" opposite Thomas Lennon and Richard Kind, horror feature "All the Creatures Were Stirring" alongside Constance Wu, and the Jamie Foxx produced sketch show, "In the Flow with Affion Crockett" for FOX. He is an expert impressionist, boasting over 250 celebrity impressions that include Donald Trump, Vince Vaughn, Tom Hanks, Anthony Bourdain, Seth Rogen, Brendon Fraser, Jason Statham, Jeff Bridges, Robert Downey Jr., and John Lithgow, to name a few. Born and raised in Skokie, Illinois, Kite studied drama in high school and at the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.
