That 1 Guy—real name Mike Silverman—amazes audiences with performances that are equal parts innovative sonic spectacle and entertaining visual showcase. The classically-trained-jazz-bassist-turned-musical-mad-scientist will make travels the country with his Magic Pipe, a homemade instrument concocted out of steel plumbing tube that allows Silverman to deliver a mind-bending amalgamation of percussive rhythm and sound. Averaging 150-200 shows a year all over North America and Canada, he has been a consistent favorite at such festivals as: Wakarusa, Electric Forest, Big Day out, All Good, Bella, High Sierra, Summer Meltdown, Montreal Jazz Festival, and many more. He was also the ‘Tap Water Award’ winner at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for best musical act. His legendary collaboration and multiple tours with Buckethead as The Frankenstein Brothers has further cemented his virtuoso story as a creative visionary as well. Captain Ahab’s Motorcycle Club was conceived by filmmaker/musician Cory McAbee (formerly from The Billy Nayer Show). The club was established in 2012 by McAbee and filmmaker/documentarian Gregory Bayne. It is a national and international collaborative, a club and a production studio. Participation will take place at live events and online. The first two departments being developed are music and graphics. The group’s online music library features a growing collection of songs written by Cory McAbee. All tracks are available for free download. Additional tracks and mixes for these songs are being generated and posted by club members. McAbee has been performing live to these mixes and will continue to do so as tracks develop and mutate. This department will produce live events, club gatherings, and a feature film soundtrack.
