Al Jardine - A Postcard From California: From the Very First Song With a Founding Member of the Beach Boys
Surf Rock
Alan (aka “Al”) Jardine, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, is best known for being one of the founding members of the California-based group The Beach Boys. Al was born in Lima, Ohio, on September 3, 1942 and met Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, Mike Love and David Marks after his family moved to Hawthorne, California. They formed The Beach Boys and with their perfect harmonies and original tunes about surfing, beaches, hot rods and California girls, became the rock 'n' roll voice of the West Coast.
Al, an accomplished musician on a variety of stringed instruments, played mainly rhythm guitar and sang harmony vocals with The Beach Boys. He sang lead on their No. 1 hit "Help Me, Rhonda" and also wrote or co-wrote a good number of songs, most notably on the albums Holland, Carl and the Passions--So Tough, Surf’s Up, and Sunflower. Al continued to tour with The Beach Boys throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and left the band after Carl Wilson’s passing in 1998.
In 2001, Al released his first album, Live in Las Vegas, featuring sons Matt and Adam Jardine, along with Carnie and Wendy Wilson (Brian Wilson’s daughters, also in Wilson Phillips) and then his own solo album in 2010, A Postcard From California, which featured guest appearances from Neil Young, Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Steve Miller, Glen Campbell, Gerry Beckley & Dewey Bunnell (America), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Alec Baldwin, plus all the remaining Beach Boys, including the late Carl Wilson. The album featured new versions of classic Beach Boys songs “Help Me, Rhonda” and “California Saga” in addition to environmentally-themed tracks like “Don’t Fight The Sea” and “Looking Down The Coast.” In 2001, Al was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award Grammy as a member of The Beach Boys.
In 2012, Al joined Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and David Marks for a new Beach Boys album, That's Why God Made the Radio and The Beach Boys went on a 50th anniversary reunion tour. In 2016 and continuing through 2018, Al joined Brian Wilson for a 50th anniversary world tour of The Beach Boys’ timeless masterpiece Pet Sounds. The album features such classics as “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “God Only Knows” and “Sloop John B,” a song Al learned from The Kingston Trio and then introduced to Brian with a new chord arrangement to fit The Beach Boys vocal style. It became a huge international hit and helped propel Pet Sounds into the top of the charts.
In 2018, Al began playing solo shows on a tour featuring songs and stories from his early days to his most recent solo album A Postcard from California. Al, along with his son Matt Jardine and vocalist/musician Jeff Alan Ross, deliver an intimate show full of hits and rarities combined with never- before-heard stories (and rare pictures and videos) from Al’s amazing career. With rave reviews from fans and critics, it’s truly a show not to be missed.

Ambrosia, the band known and loved by a multitude of fans since the 1970’s, is now more alive and compelling than ever. This 5-time Grammy Nominated ensemble is exploring new musical territory and bringing an exceptional musical performance to stages everywhere.
In 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles, came together to create a new moving and invigorating style of music. Joseph Puerta, Christopher North, David Pack, and Burleigh Drummond produced a sound that was immediately recognized. Today, Ambrosia is three of the original members with the addition of guitarist Doug Jackson, contributing keyboardist Mary Harris, and powerful lead vocalist/acoustic guitarist Ken Stacey.
Always exploring the possibilities of progressive, classical, and world influences – with tangled roots of soul, rhythm, and blues – Ambrosia is continuing to entertain their original fans while still engaging newer audiences.
Originally labeled as America’s answer to the progressive invasion of English acts Yes and King Crimson, the group quickly proved itself with a unique blend of aural landscapes. Their musical styles attracted the collaboration with cultural icons Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Alan Parsons, Bruce Hornsby, Michael McDonald, Edgar Winter, Dave Mason, Gary Wright, Al Stewart, and others. Ambrosia has toured extensively with Fleetwood Mac, Heart, and the Doobie Brothers.
During Ambrosia’s early recording history they garnered 5 Grammy Nominations, received frequent radio airplay, and gained the admiration and respect of the musical community – in addition to their sold out concerts around the world. Ambrosia achieved 5 Top 40 hit singles on Warner Bros. Records, released between 1975 and 1980, including “How Much I Feel” and “Biggest Part of Me”. In 2015 the group released a new single, “Hopes and Dreams”, which was featured on the series called “The Sparrows” that aired on the Fox television channel. As of 2017, the new Ambrosia material keeps coming.

Americana
16 year old singer/songwriter, Jamisen, has had a knack to entertain since before she could talk. Being raised in Hermosa Beach California has provided the perfect backdrop for her song writing, where she has drawn from her life lessons and point of view and placed them into her music. Awarded “2016 Artist of the Month” at Saint Rocke as well as “2017 SAND and STRAND Magazine’s Artist of the Month”, Jamisen’s star is on the rise.
Jamisen’s bluesy-catchy songs are written with feelings well beyond her youth. In 2010, at just 8 years of age, Jamisen played an original song at Hermosa Beach’s Spyder Surf Fest where earlier in the day she sang back up for Donavan Frankenreiter on two of his biggest hits “FREE” and “It Don’t Matter.” Since that initial show Jamisen has been working hard, writing new songs and opening for the likes of Donavan Frankenreiter, Tom Curren and Matt Costa. She was also a featured performer IN 2016 for LA LA Land day and played in the world famous Lighthouse Café. Jamisen dreams of a world tour one day but until then she’ll continue to foster her own sound, follow her instincts and make beautiful music.
