Medical dictionaries define "Lalochezia" as "emotional relief gained by using indecent or vulgar language". To us at Fake Four that's fucking hilarious and oddly beautiful. It's also comically fitting that Ersatz Splynter's rap name means something like "an inferior or non genuine version of a famous mutant rat ninja master". As Ceschi once said on a Myka 9 track "It's funny how fake can be realer than all these lying bastards."
Martin Landin aka Ersatz Splynter of Fresno, California's Roach Collection is a multi-instrumentalist, bilingual math rapper & fan of off kilter British stoner comedy. Some of his songs sound like they could fit on a mixtape next to Kool A.D. while others could slide in comfortably next to a melodic song by WHY?'s Yoni Wolf. Oh…but he raps way faster than those guys and also spits in Spanish ….and plays saxophone. Fuck it. For the love of West Coast hip hop, just listen to this kid's album. It's refreshing to say the least. You're welcome. Merry Christmas.
Love,
Fake Four

Who is Taste Nate?
Taste Nate is a rapper with an ear-grabbing, poetic style that draws on a wide range of musical influences and inspirations. A spiritually attuned man with a raw, urban sensibility, Taste Nate puts the highest value on truth telling. In his Art and in his Life, it’s clear he listens to the call of his spirit—something we must all do if we are to progress in this era of challenges.
What has he been up to?
Nate started Yellow Cake Radio in 2010 with co-creator Tone Gladys while still at school in San Francisco State University’s “Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts" program. Having met in the SF State Rap Cipher, they soon discovered a shared predilection for soul samples and boom bap as the signature style of their production. In 2013 Nate, and additional team members Kaef Black, and Lord Lorenz set the ground work for what is now YCR’s online presence, a combination of pod-casting, blogs, music videos, and artist news and reviews. Nate and his YCR team continue to grow their reputation in the Bay Area through mixing, mastering and video production. In what might as well be a Mission Statement of his life’s values, Taste Nate says, "Being original is not something you ever should have to try to be. It is something you already are. Love is not something you ever should have to try to find. It is something you already are.”
