Big Easy Whiskey presents SWEET CRUDE at Gasa Gasa Saturday, August 15th! Born and raised New Orleans artists, the members of Sweet Crude aim to celebrate the culture and vitality of their native Louisiana through a brand of bilingual synth-pop that is equally theatrical, bouncy, brooding, and ferocious.  Following the release of their album Officiel//Artificiel (Verve, 2020), Sweet Crude embarked on a mission to release a series of singles and EPs online, including the standalone "Take it Back" featuring Big Freedia. Their latest campaign seeks to pay homage to traditional music of Franco-Creole Louisiana by drawing on old favorites and reimagining them in a modern pop style. A Sweet Crude version of the classic "Jolie Blonde" was released in 2025 and a procession of sequels is due to follow throughout 2026.  Sweet Crude, with the support of the Library of Congress and the participation of other Louisiana standouts, was part of Musique(s)! (Nous, 2025), a project consisting of an album, a book, and a documentary that highlight the shared solidarity among these artists who sing in the heritage languages of Louisiana.  SWEET CRUDE  Originaires de la Nouvelle-Orléans, les membres du groupe Sweet Crude visent à célébrer la culture et la vitalité de leur Louisiane natale. Ces artistes pop tirent parti d’un style frénétique et joyeux afin de transmettre un message d’inclusivité linguistique.  Après la sortie de l'album Officiel//Artificiel (Verve, 2020), Sweet Crude s'est donné pour mission de générer une suite de singles et d'EPs en ligne, y compris la piste « Take it Back » avec Big Freedia. Leur dernière campagne cherche à rendre hommage à la chanson franco-louisianaise traditionnelle en puisant dans de vieux favoris et les réimaginant en style de pop moderne. Une version Sweet Crude du classique « Jolie Blonde » est sortie en 2025 avec « Un autre soir ennuyant » entre autres prévues pour 2026.   Parmi ces initiatives ambitieuses, Sweet Crude, avec le soutien de la Bibliothèque du Congrès et la participation d'autres ensembles musicaux de Louisiane (dont deux lauréats d'un Grammy), a fait partie de Musique(s)! (Nous, 2025), un projet qui se compose d'un album, un livre, et un documentaire qui mettent en lumière la solidarité partagée par ces artistes qui chantent dans les langues ancentrales de Louisiane.
