Rock
Suzzallo (pronounced Sue-Zuh-Low) is a new Seattle based rock band fronted by Rocky Votolato. After the devastating loss of his child in a tragic car accident, Votolato created an entire new world inside of aggressive rock songs that transmute extreme grief into something healing and beautiful. Suzzallo’s debut album “The Quiet Year” is an explosive eulogy filled with cathartic alt-rock anthems that bring the energy of the 90’s back to life.
This a return to form for Votolato, who Rolling Stone once lauded as having a “nuanced command of the folk idiom”, but who started out playing in louder bands, like Waxwing, who gained an underground cult following in the mid-2000s Pacific Northwest punk and hardcore scene. Suzzallo’s music taps into that same spirit: blistering guitars, soaring choruses, and poignantly impactful lyrics–all with a volume and intensity that surpasses any of Votolato’s previous work.
With Rudy Gajadhar joining on drums (ex-Waxwing), Steve Bonnell on bass (ex-Schoolyard Heroes) and teaming up with legendary producer John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, The Blood Brothers, Unwound) Suzzallo recently finished recording their debut album at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, WA - released on Thirty Something Records in the spring of 2025. Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie / The Postal Service) is featured on several songs, lending his incredible talents to the album with beautifully placed back-up vocals, electric guitar, bass 6, and piano.

Shoegaze
New Age Healers is a Seattle based shoegaze/psych-rock project featuring vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Owen Murphy, guitarist Jeramy Koepping (Voyager One, Grand Hallway), drummer Adam LeVasseur (Feed), bassist Allen Murray (Modern Athletics), and keyboardist Farkhad Saidmuratov (Kotlovan). NAH has four full length releases, 2016's Ghosts which NPR's Jim DeRogatis called "wonderfully dark, hypnotic shoegaze," 2017's Where the Tragic Happens which The Strangers' Dave Segal described as having "slyly catchy melodies and occasional anthemic flourishes." In 2019 the band released Debris engineered by Barrett Jones (Foo Fighters, Nirvana, etc.) which garnered airplay around the globe and most significantly here in Seattle on KEXP where they have been played over 250 times and have also been lucky enough to do a live in-studio session on the Midday Show with Cheryl Waters.
In 2022 New Age Healers released their fourth album Demolition Stories. Recorded by Matt Brown at Avast Studios and Crackle & Pop in Seattle, the album was heard on radio stations across the globe, getting huge play on WXNA-FM in Nashville, the UK’s Phoenix FM, and KEXP in Seattle while KEXP DJ Eva Walker (Singer, songwriter The Black Tones) included “Melts Away” on her top-10 list of 2022.
2024 finds the band set to release a new album called “The Spin Out” and after hearing a preview of the album, KEXP DJ Evie Stokes says “The new record is so so good! I love it! Every song is great.”
