Craig Robinson
Comedy
Appeared in the ninth and final season of the Emmy-winning “The Office” on NBC Robinson portrays acerbic Dunder-Mifflin employee Darryl Philbin. He is definitely a world away from his original career intentions; before deciding to pursue his comedy career full time Robinson was a K-8 teacher in the Chicago Public School System. He earned his undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and his Masters of Education from St. Xavier University. It was while he was studying education in Chicago that he also discovered his love of acting and comedy when he joined the famed Second City Theatre.
As a stand-up comedian Robinson first made his mark in the comedy circuit at the 1998 Montreal “Just For Laughs” Festival. That year he also won the Oakland Comedy Festival Awards and the Miller Genuine Draft 1996 Comedy Search. He soon went on to perform his act on “The Jimmy Kimmel Show ” and “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Now headlining venues and festivals across the country he does both solo acts as well as full-band sets – “The Nasty Delicious” – tying together his lyrical comedy with his finesse at the piano. Whether Robinson shows up with just his keyboard or also with his seven-man band the clubs are packed to the brims with raucous laughter in response to the musical comedy on display.
His rise to success with “The Office” and his stand-up prowess quickly brought him to the forefront with industry comedy maven Judd Apatow. Robinson made audiences question their notions of vanity playing the sensitive bouncer in KNOCKED UP. He then kept audiences glued to their seats as one of the henchman hunting Seth Rogen and James Franco’s bumbling stoner characters in PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and made fans squirm when he co-starred with Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks in ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO.
In February of this year he will be heard as a character in The Weinstein Company’s first animated feature ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH. And in May finally getting his due with his first leading man role Robinson is starring in the comedy WE THE PEEPLES for Lionsgate and producer Tyler Perry. Playing a pushy boyfriend Robinson surprises his fiancé-to-be (Kerry Washington) who is on a trip home to visit her family and discovers that the family is not only surprised to see him but has never even heard of him.
Later this summer he appear as himself as part of the Hollywood juggernaut that makes up the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg comedy world. With the likes of James Franco Paul Rudd Jason Segel Seth Rogan Emma Watson Danny McBride and a slew of their other actortype friends Sony Pictures’ THIS IS THE END tells us what will happen while attending a party at James Franco's house the celebrities are faced with the apocalypse.
In June Robinson will begin production alongside Rob Corddry Clark Duke and story addition Adam Scott on the sequel to the 2010 ensemble comedy feature HOT TUB TIME MACHINE for MGM and director Steve Pink. The original story follows three grown men (Corddry Craig Robinson and John Cusack) as they visit the hot tub where they once partied discover it is now a time machine and travel back to their raunchy heyday in the mid-1980’s.
Robinson has made it a point to flesh out every element of his resume turning in a hilarious cameo in NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN as one of the Tuskegee Airman lending his comedy genius to fellow Apatow devotee Danny McBride in his HBO television series “East Bound & Down ” and voicing several characters on “The Cleveland Show.” Robinson was heard in the final chapter of the SHREK film series SHREK FOREVER AFTER as one of the new characters being introduced to the repertoire a member of the ogre clan and the camp’s resident chef named “Cookie.” And taking a dramatically different role Robinson starred in the independent feature FATHER OF INVENTION with Kevin Spacey and Camilla Belle.
Robinson’s additional credits include the films THE GOODS with Jeremy Piven MISS March WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY Tyler Perry’s DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL and television shows including “Friends ” “The Bernie Mac Show ” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He also turned up as a preacher in the demonstrative web video celebrity push in support of Gay rights “PROP 8: THE MUSICAL” with Jack Black John C. Reilly and Neil Patrick Harris.
Robinson currently resides in Los Angeles.

Comedy
When Tiffany Haddish walks into a room you know she is someone not to be reckoned with. In a mere few minutes you will be laughing so hard you will be crying, and then you might even cry when you hear how she got to this phenomenal point in her journey both on and off stage.
It is a testament that the one person she credits her success to is her social worker which in itself says it all. Growing up in foster care in South Central Los Angeles, it was her excessive talking and imaginary friends that prompted her increasingly flustered social worker to steer her into standup comedy by enrolling her into the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp for children. When she returned and was placed with a white family in the valley, she thought her new classmates, who were also Caucasian, were celebrities from television. She even asked them for their autograph. Growing up in South Central, the only race of people she saw on television were white.
Tiffany plays the outspoken, no-nonsense “Nakeisha” on NBC’s The Carmichael Show, alongside the show’s creator and star, Jerrod Carmichael which returns for a new season in 2017. Last year, Tiffany was seen co-starring alongside Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in the film, Keanu. And on July 21st of this year, Tiffany will be seen co-starring in
the film Girl Trip opposite Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Regina Hall. This will be followed by Tiffany’s own one hour stand-special premiering on Showtime.
Today, Tiffany tours all over the world bringing her edge, unusual take on life and love and tons of laughter, introducing
herself by announcing “She Ready” & “The Last Black Unicorn.”
Haddish’s comedy has landed her on Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty Sexy Funny comedy tour. She has made appearances on the Tonight Show, Chelsea Lately and the Arsenio Hall Show. Haddish was an early stand out since first appearing on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes? for TV One and on Comedy Central's Reality Bites.
Not only is Tiffany a comedian, she has proven to be an unparalleled actress appearing in such diverse projects as the film comedy Meet the Spartans and the Lifetime drama Racing for Time, where she played a lead role opposite Charles S. Dutton and opposite Ice Cube in The Janky Promoters. Haddish debuted as Denise, a drug abusing woman dealing with social issues on Lifetime’s Racing for Time. Her other television credits included a recurring role on the Tyler Perry’s OWN soap opera series, “If Loving You Is Wrong,” Kevin Hart’s BET show Real Husbands of Hollywood and FOX’s New Girl.
One of Tiffany's special passions is performing in a comedy show Chuckles Not Knuckles, a program she developed for inner city high school students that promotes nonviolence. Haddish sees herself as sexy as Halle Berry, as funny as Jim
Carrey, raw like Richard Pryor with the comedic timing of Lucille Ball, smooth like Eddie Murphy, Jewish as Whoopi Goldberg, and hopes to someday have money like Oprah.

Bassem Youssef
Bassem Youssef
Political
Bassem Youssef, dubbed the Jon Stewart of the Arab World, was the host of popular political satire TV show AlBernameg, which was the first of it’s kind in the Middle East. Originally a 5-minute show on YouTube, AlBernameg became the first online to TV conversion in the Middle East and the most watched show across the region with 30 million viewers every week.
AlBernameg received wide acclaim around the world with coverage in some of the biggest media outlets, topping it off with Youssef’s appearance on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart twice in June 2012 and April 2013. In June 2013, Youssef hosted Jon Stewart on AlBernameg in Cairo marking the second season’s peak. Al Bernameg was chosen by South by Southwest, one of the largest international interactive festivals, as the first and most successful internet to TV conversion story in the Middle East. Al Bernameg’s YouTube channel was the first channel in the MENA region to reach one million subscribers and was awarded the gold button trophy.
Throughout its three seasons AlBernameg remained controversial through its humorous yet bold criticism of the ruling powers, which led to tens of lawsuits being filed against the show and its host. Youssef was even issued an arrest warrant in March 2013 and turned himself in the next day where he was questioned for five hours and released on bail. In recognition of his success, Youssef was named among the Time Magazine most influential list for 2013 – under the “Pioneers” category, was awarded the International Press Freedom Award by the CPJ, and was chosen by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the global thinkers during the same year.
During its third season, the show achieved unprecedented weekly viewership ratings for 11 consecutive weeks. In June 2014, and after a six-week break, AlBernameg team held a press conference where Youssef announced the termination of the show due to overwhelming pressures on both the show and the airing channel.
In the spring of 2015 Youssef served as a resident fellow at the Institute of Politics at the John F Kennedy School of Government for one semester. During his stay in the US he appeared twice as a Senior Middle East Correspondent on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, commenting on the recent political situation in the region. In 2015 he hosted the International Emmy Awards gala of 2015, as well as the 49th Carthage Film Festival in Tunis. Youssef is also currently hosting a digital series titled “The Democracy Handbook” for Fusion Network, namely on its new digital platform F-Comedy. He is also the star of an internationally renowned documentary by Sara Taksler titled “Tickling Giants” featuring Youssef’s story with AlBernameg. Youssef has recently released a book about his experience “Revolution for Dummies: Laughing Through the Arab Spring” where he gives different perspectives and insights on the Egyptian political scene through the Arab spring and after.
It was announced in October 2017 that Bassem Youssef would be doing the voice over for for disney’s Duck Tales as “Sabaf” the evil guard of an all mummified pharaoh. In that same month, ABC network announced that Bassem Youssef would be teaming up with Larry Wilmore, for a super hero Middle Eastern American family comedy. The show centers on the Sharif family, an ordinary Middle Eastern American family with two superhero parents at a time when it’s illegal to be a superhero, so they are forced to save the world in secret.
Youssef majored in cardiothoracic surgery, passed the United States Medical License Exam (USMLE) and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS). Having practiced cardiothoracic surgery in Egypt for a period of 13 years, before moving into comedy and political satirism.

Contemporary Jazz
The American dream came true for Catalina Popescu in October of 1986 when she and her husband Bob created a supper club devoted to serving an experience of superb eats and the shared magic of live performance. That grand experience began at the door where every night her mother Maria would greet each guest as family and share in their love of music. Housed in Hollywood and decked out in a timeless charm, the club offers a cozy ambience under sparkling stage lights garnished with its signature concoction — Jazz. The first artist to grace the stage was the masterful flutist and saxophonist Buddy Collette, and ever since then, over the past 36 years, the Catalina Jazz Club has hosted the most illustrious legends of all time — from the powerful puffers of Dizzy Gillespie to the electrified fingers of McCoy Tyner, the bubbly belt of Dee Dee Bridgewater and Lynda Carter, the flirtatious saxophone of Joshua Redman, the slick strumming of Kenny Burrell, the insane drum clinic of Steve Gadd, the romance of Steve Tyrell, and the masterclass of Mike Stern.
For Catalina, Jazz is our way of life. It breathes pain. It knows love. It dreams hope. It bleeds courage. Whether we’re showcasing Broadway, Soul, R&B, or stand-up comedy, the lesson learned from all the greats who have serenaded our spirits is how to connect to one another. And that’s why the Catalina Jazz Club will always have a table ready for you.
The Catalina Jazz Club has been honored by A.S.M.A.C., California Jazz Foundation, Los Angeles Jazz Society, and a City of Los Angeles Certificate of Appreciation on their 25th Anniversary, which was awarded by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the LA City Council which included then City Council member and current Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
