Please join us for an incredibly special early evening of music by the one and only Sun Ra Arkestra on Friday, May 23rd, at 6:30 pm as part of the citywide Sun Ra Day celebration happening at venues around Birmingham from May 21-24. The show and event will be honoring Sun Ra’s 111th birthday here in the Magic City and can’t wait to have the Arkestra return to the site of one of the most legendary gigs to ever take place at The Nick from Aug. 23, 1988, when Ra and his band returned to his hometown for a one night only concert, tapes of which still circulate here around town as well as online. Gonna be one for the history books and we want you to be a part of it! Space is the place!!!
